The ideas are based on what my own child loved as a 3 year old. Peppa Pig is a huge favourite with many 3 year old girls and you can go very wrong with a Peppa Pig themed toy. There is a great selection of Peppa pig toys below. The Peppa Pig phonics toy is a great educational toy teaching sounds, phonics, spelling, colours, letters and numbers. 
3 year olds have vivid imaginations and are starting to participate in a lot of role play so a Peppa Pig medical kit is a great choice for playing doctors. 
3 year old girls will love getting active with the Peppa pig space hopper - we use ours indoors and outdoors. The Peppa pig giant playing cards have been great for introducing my child to simple games such as snap and pairs and make a great extra little present or stocking filler. Or why not get a Peppa pig jigsaw puzzle. 

Tomy Colour Doodles are great for 3 year olds to draw in colour without the mess of crayons and paper - a great travel toy too. An art easel can be used for chalking, drawing and painting. In the Summer we move ours outside to do painting and chalking without the worry of getting it on the carpet. If you have a large kitchen its great for use in there too. With 3 year olds you can't go wrong with play doh or a play doh set - we go through tons of the stuff. 

Girly 3 year old girls love princess themed toys. If the little girl you are buying for is like this there are some great toys available. A princess castle is always a top choice as well as princess figurines to go with it. Or why not get a princess dressing up outfit complete with tiara, wand and some princess shoes. As well as being fun, the Princess magnetic dress up will help develop dexterity and skills for learning to dress too. 

Girls love to construct and build too. When buying for 3 year old girls you could go for pink themed construction toys, but the normal colours are excellent too. Ideas of construction toys include lego (normally lego duplo is best for this age although you could consider getting smaller lego for older 3 year olds), megablock and fisher price trio. 

Kitchen toys are another top favourite with preschoolers, they will love to make meals, have tea parties prepare food and lots more. Here are a range of toys below to give you some ideas. 

Traditionally girls like dolls and as you would expect there are lots of toys aimed at this age group. Consider buying a doll that is realistic and you can feed with a bottle and change its nappy. A dolls house is a good investment as a toy as girls will love playing with this for years to come. If the 3 year old you know already has a dolls house consider buying dolls house furniture or extra dolls to inhabit the house. 3 year old girls will love playing simple games. Games at this age are great for teaching how to take turns and about winning and loosing. Orchard toys do a great range of games aimed at preschool children who are not yet able to read. There are some great educational toys available for 3 year olds. One of our favourites has been Melissa and Doug See and spell. These are simple jigsaw puzzles which introduce  letters. As they get older they are great for introducing simple spelling of words too. Leapfrog fridge phonics is a great toy to have on the fridge door on the kitchen, it keeps little ones occupied while you are in the kitchen doing other things and is educational too. 3 years is a great age to start introducing jigsaw puzzles. These are good for honing fine motor skills and developing problem solving skills too. 

At this age little girls have great imaginations and there are lots of toys to facilitate this. Think doctors kits, cash registers and post office (this has been a favourite in our house). Check out some options below. 

3 year olds need to burn off energy and there are some great outdoor toys aimed at this age group.A trampoline is a good investment as you can get years of use out of it. Stomp rockets are great fun. Stomp on the launch pad of the rocket to see how high you can shoot it up into the air (adults and older children will love to have a go on this too). Gardening sets are a nice outdoor toy so kids can dig and help parents in the garden. 

 Scooters are a popular choice for 3 year olds and you will see children of this age on scooters everywhere at the moment. At this age you will need to buy a scooter with at least 3 or 4 wheels so that the child has the balance and stability they need. My first pink scooter featured below has 4 wheels so is perfect for a 3 year old learning to use a scooter.

Many 3 year olds will be going to playschool so what about a backpack. Get one with a character that they love (a Peppa Pig backpack is featured below). Many 3 year old girls love a backpack for just carrying stuff around in and out of the house too. Other ideas in this area include lunchboxes and flasks. 
Another top ideas is an umbrella. Little girls love to be grown up like their parents and will love an umbrella to carry outside and use when it's raining. Make sure you get one with protectors on the ends of the umbrella for safety. Other ideas include wellingtons and raincoats.
